Drop off / pick up Policy

What to expect when dropping off

  • Your pup might be nervous or begin to shake
  • Your pup might try to run/escape
  • Your pup might begin to cry and want cuddles

For this reason it is a policy that clients must bring their dogs on a leash.

The kindest way to drop off your furry friend is to say your farewells in the car and then make the drop off as swift as possible.

Please avoid -

  • Picking up the dog into your arms after you’ve dropped off
  • Hanging around
  • Giving eye contact

The above actions communicate to your pup that you want them to follow you and they will find it very difficult to disconnect.

Once you’ve walked out please do not stand around outside the door - this communicates to the dog that I am holding them back from you and makes it very difficult for me to bond with them

The aim is to communicate to the dog that they are safe with me. To do this

  • smile and give eye contact with me
  • Pass the leash over with no hesitation
  • Wave your hand to say bye and walk away

Salon Policies

  • All hounds must be brought to the salon on a lead, this ensures their safety in the car park and allows us to take them for toilet breaks if needed.
  • All hounds must be given the opportunity to urinate prior to entering our salon, there is grass nearby and pet parents must ensure that any mess on the lawn is cleaned up appropriately. If you need a bag please ask.
  • At HOH we do not subject dogs to the painful process of de-matting. Mats and knots will not just wash out and if your pooch is matted we will need to do a full clip to allow your pooch to start fresh. *A 'matted fee' may apply*
  • Pooches found will fleas will require a mandatory flea wash. *Flea fee will apply*
  • Muzzles of all sizes are used at our discretion as a last resort. This is for our safety and the muzzle will be used for brief periods only.
  • Haus of Hound reserves the right to send pooches home at any point during the grooming process if it is deemed unsafe to the groomer or pooch to continue with the groom. Haus of Hound also reserves the right to charge for any work already completed
  • At HOH we do not use sedation under any circumstances. We strongly believe that sedation is something that should only be performed by a vet or vet nurse.
  • Our grooming prices include 3 hours of care for small dogs and 4 hours of care for large dogs. Any time after this will be charged at $40 per hour of care.
  • 24 hours notice must be given if your hound is unable to make their appointment.
  • Less then 24 hours notice of cancellation will incur a 25% fee. Payable BEFORE your pooches next appointment.
  • A "No-Show"  fee is 50% of the quote given. Payable BEFORE your pooches next appointment.
  • Repeat offenders will be required to pay a 100% non-refundable deposit for all future bookings.
  • Prices are subject to change depending on time between grooms, your pooches condition, behaviour and needs.
  • It is recommended that your pooch visits the salon every 4-6 weeks to ensure optimal coat and skin health.
  • In our salon your pooches welfare comes first.
  • Rudeness to our team or other customers will not be tolerated.
  • ALL client information is private and confidential
  • Suggestions and tips are only that! We are not doctors / vets  & can not give health advice for your pet. It is always best to visit your local vet if you have questions regarding your pets wellbeing
